At Forest & Beach, we LOVE learning about our natural world. We never cease to be amazed by the beauty and wonder of the magnificent environment on our doorstep! By taking others outside into our incredible ancient woodland and to the glorious South Devon beaches, we hope to inspire others to share our passion for our planet. With a clear environmental mission, we work with local schools, businesses and individuals across the UK to inspire learning on environmental issues. Based on an organic farm set a mile from the beach at Beesands, we offer a range of educational activities ranging from forest school, beach school, river study days, farm visits, agricultural education, bespoke educational packages, holiday activity days for children, and team-building days for local businesses. Our mission
In today’s society, where technology takes centre-stage, children and adults are increasingly losing touch with nature and becoming unsure of how to interact with it. Forest & Beach aims to reconnect people with nature in a way that’s creative, engaging and fun. Salcombe Yacht Club welcomes members and visitors to enjoy the first-class sailing, excellent facilities and picturesque scenery.
The Ria, which runs from Kingsbridge to Salcombe and the sea provides some of the most beautiful dinghy sailing in the United Kingdom. From beginner to expert there is more than enough variety and challenge to provide a wonderful learning environment together with a spectacular racing challenge.
SYC FACILITIES FOR HIRE – Did you know that you do not need to be a member to hire rooms at SYC? This might be for a works functions, club meetings or a private party – where else do you get such an amazing view.
Rooms for hire:
Chart Room – beautiful room with own private balcony
½ Day Hire – £35; Full Day Hire – £70
Seated – 44; Standing – 70
Dining Room – newly decorated
½ Day Hire – £50; Full Day Hire – £100
Seated – 70; Standing – 120
Terrace – Not for hire in July/August
Day – £75; Evening – £150
All events can be catered for – whether that be simple sandwiches, buffet or a full 4-course sit down meal. All menus are discussed with our Chef and the final price includes crockery, linen, cutlery and waitressing staff. All prices include VAT
CLUB RACING – Salcombe Yacht Club provides top quality racing as well as active encouragement of younger members with dedicated cadet training. The Solo, Merlin Rocket National 12 and Salcombe Yawl fleets form the backbone of club racing with a strong Handicap Class fleet also.
We also run the SYC REGATTA every year.
